> Leela Is Pregnant (dial-up Beware)
Posted by EmilyGrace - 07-13-07 10:24 - 85 comments
My sister ran into my room yesterday holding a very fat Leela. She saw Leela climbing on the wires of the cage and noticed a lump on her side. When she picked her up to look at it, there was a lump on each side. Babies. Bandit was neutered 2 or 3 weeks ago, so this is a complete shock. Leela is huge. My sister had given her a bath 2 days ago and she wasn't big at all. We are expecting them to arrive this weekend. If anyone in Michigan or northern Ohio want to come by an get one in a few weeks, you are free to take as many as you would like. We're hoping that she only has 2-4 big ones instead of 10 or so little guys. I was feeling her belly and could feel little legs/tails! You can't really see how big she is in these pictures, but believe me, she is bigger than the boys. She looks as if she is about to explode!

Before, slender and petite.

Now.

I have a movie to post too but it is taking forever to upload.

Well my Black lab/retriever Candy is now at the vet. My husband got up this morning and played fetch with her for a while and then took her for a five mile walk. Along with our blue healer.

He walks her pretty regular so this is nothing new and she is a handful when you walk her even with the pinch collar on. She was her normal self testing her boundaries and tring to drag him.

About 20 minutes later he was checking on them and Candy would not come then she finally tried to stand up only her back legs worked. She is only about 7 years old so can't be old age I don't think.

So ran her to the vet before they closed up.

First thing the vet asked was did she get hit by a car. Since she has not (she is in a fence or on a leach at all times) he really has not clue. Maybe something neurological?

I should hear from him between 4 and 6 tonight.

There goes the rest of the money I had from Christmas. So glad it was here.

> My Little Oliver

No clue what is wrong with him. He is my long coat black and white Chihuahua. He is only 12 years old.
I noticed last week he was breathing heavy but next time I checked on him he seemed normal so I just figured he got excited about something.
Anyways this morning it happened again. Only it was 5 am in the morning and his breathing was so bad he was coughing a lot. So off to the vet we went this morning.
All I know is the vet took ex rays and gave him some shots. I could not talk to him the place was full of people this morning and the girl that answered the phone says it has not slown(sp) down.
But oliver has stopped coughing and I should hear from the vet later today.
I sure hope it is something easy to fix hubby is still out of work and we don't have any money in savings anymore.

i'm so mad at myself. i came home from work this evening and realized i forgot to block off the door to my bedroom. My brand spankin new hamster's cage was tipped over onto the floor with no hamster to be found. my cats had evidently pushed open the door and knocked over the cage. crying.gif theodore is missing...i looked EVERYWHERE and no hamster. he wasn't in the cage and i didn't find any blood when i was cleaning up. i also didn't find him left anywhere as a present from the cats. i don't know what to do! he's so tiny and young. i left a little trail of food leading up to his cage on the floor...i'll leave that for a few days and hope that he'll find his way back if he can. i hope he's not hurt somewhere that i can't find him... crying.gif this SUCKS! i feel like such a horrible person right now... he's entirely defenseless, scared out of his mind because i forgot to make sure the door was closed. does anyone have any tricks to coaxing a hamster back to his cage?

i called my cousin (one of the cats actually belongs to him) and told him he needs to come get her this weekend sometime. i've been temporarily babysitting now for over 4 months...and its getting old. i'm pretty sure that she was the instigator in the hamster incident. she used to be a farm kitty. i know its not her fault, she's just doing what her instincts tell her to do...but seriously, she's not my cat and i've got enough on my plate right now. he (my cousin) keeps telling me that he doesn't want to get rid of her, and that his mom wants her...but he's too lazy to come and get her. AAAAARGH! one less cat to have to deal with would help the stress level a little. then i only have to worry about MY cat...and he's enough.

i'm just praying that theodore isn't suffering somewhere. crying.gif i dont know what else to do...
