> Ridgebacks
Posted by Chrissy_Bee - 07-2-09 04:04 - 3 comments
Well after debating about 5 different breeds, I have decided that I want a Rhodesian ridgeback when the time comes for me to get my own dog (probably in about a year). They are large, athletic and intelligent, just what I'm looking for!

However I do know that they have a bit of a bad reputation and that in some parts of Canada, they are listed on dog legislation as a 'dangerous breed.' I am hoping to get a house this year and then a dog, so I have begun contacting good breeders. I've begun an email conversation with a really nice woman in Ontario who is giving me some fantastic information - she will be breeding a litter next year and it seems as though I may get my name down for a pup. But I was wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on the breed?

> Doggie Treats
Posted by Anic - 06-10-09 14:28 - 9 comments
I am looking to make my own dog treats because I fell (and know) that they would be healthier than store-bought treats and I think it would be cheaper to just make them myself. Since I always give my boys 4 or 5 treats when I leave for work, we go through treats pretty fast. The bigger the treat, the fewer I leave. I've been searching recipes and I was hoping that everyone could share theirs here like a dog treat cookbook!

I found this one because my boys would die for a jar of peanut butter:

The Bullwrinkle site has some pretty good looking treats!

Also, I was wondering, would it be a good idea to cruch some multivitamins into the treat dough? I have a feeling that Harley isn't eating the way he should, but it's hard to tell because we free feed (trying to get them on a schedule, but it's hard with our work schedules) and Harley is left to roam the house when we aren't here because we know he won't potty in the house and he won't tear anything up. Where would be a good place to get quality supplements?

Thanks everyone!

> Tips On Moving Kitties?
Posted by kokopalee - 06-5-09 14:01 - 8 comments
Monday TD and I are moving to Oregon from Southern CA. I already went to the vet and got sleeping pills for Odie since he doesnt like being in a car. Do you guys have any tips on making sure they are comfy getting there.

Also because of a fire in my Apartment complex, Odie and mookie had to get into a carrier, Odie I'm assuming was trying to dig his way out and hurt his front paws, bleeding nails, I tried to wipe them off with water and hes been sleeping alot since. Im wondering if there is anything else I should do for him?
